Founded in 2007, Galerie Christophe Gaillard moved into a beautiful 300m2 private mansion in Le Marais (5 rue Chapon, 75003 Paris) in 2015. It features two exhibition areas: the main space and the front space.
Galerie Christophe Gaillard is known for championing female artists, however this has never been a guideline at the gallery which serves as the starting line for a generation of emerging artists from France and abroad (Julien Des Monstiers, Smith, Pablo Tomek, Rachel de Joode, Cate Giordano, Letha Wilson).
The gallery also represents major names in contemporary art, including Hélène Delprat and Anita Molinero, and commits to supporting the work of the artists whose estates it represents, in line with current artistic practices (Richard Nonas, Michel Journiac, Daniel Pommereulle, Ceija Stojka, Pierre Tal Coat).
Sensitive to issues of identity, history and sedimentation and transmission processes, the gallery works alongside institutions to back scientific research and adopt a cross-disciplinary approach through its editorial policy and its author in residence.
In 2020, the gallery opened “La Résidence – Le Tremblay”, a unique cultural space in the historic Tremblay château within 14-hectare landscaped grounds. A meeting point, place for professional and artistic gatherings, and a sculpture exhibition space, “La Résidence – Le Tremblay” encourages contemporary research and creation by welcoming artists and authors to its residence programme throughout the year. In 2024, the gallery expanded its business in the region with the opening of the “Usine”, comprising a huge 600m2 showroom, a production workshop for mammoth pieces and a storage room covering almost 2000m2.
In September 2023, Galerie Christophe Gaillard branched out abroad, setting up in a private mansion opposite KANAL – Pompidou Centre in Brussels. This has raised the gallery’s international profile following collaborations with various partner galleries, such as Konrad Fischer, Hauser & Wirth and Ramiken.
The gallery has also built strong relationships with prestigious institutions and collections, giving its artists exceptional visibility (Marina Gadonneix at the Pompidou Centre, Anita Molinero at Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris, Isabelle Le Minh at Rencontres d’Arles and Hélène Delprat, Michel Journiac and Marcel Bascoulard with the Pinault Collection).
This momentum continues with the gallery's participation in various international fairs (Art Basel, Art Basel Miami, Art Basel Hong Kong, Paris+ by Art Basel, Artissima, Art Brussels, Paris Photo, The Armory Show, Frieze Masters and more).
