"I’m mad about museums. I love making slow progress and stopping when a painting or object tells me to. I love the idea of an important encounter, as in Thomas Bernhard’s Old Masters. Unfortunately, there are too many people. All of these people who let the iPhone look for them... It’s depressing. I read more novels than essays, but I do like the writings of Victor Stoichita, Meyer Shapiro, Aby Warburg, Daniel Arasse, and others. ‘‘Away with all your superstitions’’ strikes me as being a red herring. We are made up and traversed by so many images, references, and stories. We are not born in a vacuum. We can refuse what was done in the past or be in reaction against it, but to do so, we must know what came before.", Hélène Delprat
