Le " lointain " à travers un choix d'oeuvres de Tal Coat et d'arts premiers

03 - 24.09.2022
Opening, Saturday, September 3 from 4 to 7 pm.

Discussion about "Pierre Tal Coat" on Saturday 24 September at 4pm with Jean-Pascal Léger, Thomas Augais and Christophe Gaillard (reservation required):

On this occasion, launch of the publication :

Tal Coat, Regards sans frontières (Les colloques de Cerisy - Editions Hermann) in the presence of Jean-Pascal Léger and Thomas Augais

For several years, the Christophe Gaillard Gallery has been accompanying the work of Pierre Tal Coat (1905-1985) in close collaboration with the artist's family. After the first major solo exhibition devoted to him in 2019, this new presentation takes a radically different tack, born of Christophe Gaillard's personal intuition, which has long wished to link Pierre Tal Coat's paintings with works of non-Western art. Unlike other artists of his time, Tal Coat never collected African or Oceanic art objects: this unprecedented combination is an opportunity to renew our contemporary view of his work and to grasp once again all its independence and freedom.
