Alongside its guest artist residency program (by open call), Galerie Christophe Gaillard offers its represented artists production residencies at La Résidence / Le Tremblay.

CATE GIORDANO

Born in Pensacola in 1986, Cate Giordano lives and works in New York.
As the third resident artist, Cate Giordano used the studio at La Résidence to create her two exhibitions,
The Final Wife et Rome. The “bodies” of David and Janet, the central characters of The Final Wife—both performed by the artist in her videos—took shape in the studio, combining techniques of bricolage, sewing, and painting.

LETHA WILSON

Born in 1976, Letha Wilson lives and works in New York.
During her residency, the american artist collaborated with the Normandy workshop Legrand Samuel, specialized in forging, stamping, die-casting, and powder metallurgy. In addition to the works presented in her exhibition, the piece
Death Valley steel fold was created on site for the 2021 Paris Photo booth “Les Nouveaux Constructeurs.”

HANNAH WHITAKER

Born in 1980, Hannah Whitaker lives and works in New York.
For her residency, Hannah Whitaker experimented for the first time with collage, producing the work Tangled, mounted on three wooden panels for her exhibition. On the occasion of the inauguration of La Résidence | Le Tremblay, she also set up a photography studio there, where she created unique portraits of guests and the gallery team. Additionally, she designed two rugs that run through the château’s corridors, conceived as a visual “comma” echoing the original stone flooring.
