The Galerie Christophe Gaillard is extremely proud to present Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair, Hélène Delprat's first painting exhibition in twenty years. On this occasion and after En finir avec l'extension du pire, the second volume of Hélène?s «research book» will be published.

1984
After two years at the Villa Medicis, first exhibition by Hélène Delprat : Jungle et Loups. She then enters the Maeght gallery.

1994 Last exhibition at the Maeght gallery. After 10 years of collaboration, Hélène Delprat decides to take a step back and not show her work anymore. She isolates herself and, though stilll painting, she starts to direct short films : Ratafi-Ratamala, Le songe d?une nuit d?hiver, Works & Days... She creates costumes and set designs for the theatre and ballets as well as various radio projects : Autour des Enfants Terribles, and her play Le Cerf Coco (played by Edith Scob)...

She starts doing interviews (Nicole Stéphane, Dominique Delouche, la Comtesse Marcello etc...) and in 2013 presents on France-Culture Comment j?ai inventé Edith Scob, commissionned by the CNAP for the «Ateliers de Création Radiophonique».

Almost twenty years later, after responding to sollicitations by the Musée Gustave Moreau, then the Jeu de Paume, the maison rouge or even the Centre Pompidou (festival Hors Pistes), Hélène Delprat accepts to be represented by a gallery. She will choose the Galerie Christophe Gaillard.

2014
Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair : First painting exhibition in twenty years.

Inspired by literature, from the Metamorphosis by Ovide to contemporary novels and Mary Shelley, by cinema (From the Hammer movies to Pasolini), by the internet or even the radio, Hélène Delprat develops through a daily practice (video, photo, archives, paintings) a sort of Book of Hours, sensitive and darkly humorous at the same time where fiction and documentary intertwine.
Her interviews, real or fake, her radio drawings and her article collections complete this inventory of a world made of chance and programming at the same time.
In 2004 she opens a blog : Days, faire un truc par jour.
In May 2004, she?s one of the artist guests in Choices Collectors Week end at the ENSBA. In june, after a solo show at LOOP Video art fair in Barcelona, Hélène Delprat will present her films during the Côté Court Festival, will be part of the exhibition «Le Mur» at la maison rouge presenting Antoine de Galbert?s personal collection, as well as part of the group show «Dessiner Eros», conceived by Dominique Paini at the Galerie Odile Ouizeman. She will also have a solo show at the Maison des Arts Bernard Anthonioz (MABA) «Comment j?ai inventé Edith Scob, suite», in June and July.
