Mobili stampigliati (stamped furniture) Le FRENCH DESIGN 100

French design is spreading to every continent, ready to embark on any adventure and adapt to any scenario. As part of Milan Design Week and with the sponsorship of the city of Milan, Le FRENCH DESIGN is unveiling an exclusive selection of design and interior architecture pieces from the winning projects of the 3rd edition of the Le FD100 prize. The exhibition is on display in the gallery of the Institut Français Milano until 18 May 2024.

Luxury hotels at the ends of the earth, roving bars, desirable chairs made from recycled plastic, silky lighting, nomadic or oversized pieces... Innovative, colourful and poetic, the creations on show are a guarantee of affordable quality and transparency.

The FD100 is the only award for objects and spaces that showcase French design on an international scale, and pays tribute to the entire ‘ecosystem of designers, manufacturers and unique skills - all essential components of our French art de vivre’, says Jean-Paul Bath, Managing Director of FRENCH DESIGN by VIA.

Creativity and expertise
For Laurent Le Bon, Chairman of the Centre Pompidou and of the FD100 2024 jury, these exceptional ‘Made in France’ pieces embody ‘the vitality of French design on an international stage’. The result of the collaboration of 26 designers and just as many manufacturers, the 32 works chosen highlight ‘an overflowing creativity that highlights the demands of formal research, a technical expertise capable of mastering all the dimensions of a project, while calling on the exceptional virtuosity of our manufacturers, who are an infinite resource of materials and shapes for creators’.

Circular scenography
To display these objects and furniture designed and manufactured in France, the architecture and interior design agency Atelier du Pont (Anne-Cécile Comar & Philippe Croisier) has come up with an innovative and responsible scenography based on circularity.
‘We used 100% recycled materials, vintage displays and furniture sourced in France.
