A landmark event in Liège: for the first time, the Treasury of the Cathedral opens its doors to contemporary art. The exhibition We Turn in the Night and Are Consumed by Fire transforms this major heritage site, internationally renowned for its reliquaries and works of religious art, into a space of creation. Across 1,500 m² and eleven exhibition spaces, 78 Belgian and international artists—painters, photographers, video artists, and visual artists - present more than 130 works that encounter the museum’s historical treasures. Imagined and conceived by Espace 251 Nord, this unprecedented exhibition route invites visitors to rethink the place of the sacred in the contemporary world, at the crossroads of memory and sensibility.
