Cate Giordano makes sculptures, shoots videos, and performs in various states of cross-dress.
They create melodramatic narratives that exist within loosely constructed sculptural environments. Giordano is interested in the artifice of media and the exclusions of reported history. They use the tension between objects and actors to subvert the expectations inherent in the narrative form.
