Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Cate Giordano lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

Cate Giordano is a filmmaker, sculptor, and performer. Their work has been exhibited at Microscope Gallery, Spectacle Theater, Anthology Film Archives, and Millennium Film Workshop. In 2019, their installation After the fire is gone was acquired by the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse.

Writings about their work have been published in journals such as The Believer, BOMB Magazine, Hyperallergic, San Francisco Art Quarterly, and Artnet.

They received a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in 2008 and were a recipient of the Smack Mellon Artist Studio Program in 2016-2017. They also participated in the Onassis AiR residency in Athens in 2019.

Their work has been shown in New York at Postmasters Gallery, Microscope Gallery, Spectacle Theater, Anthology Film Archives, Millennium Film Workshop, and the Spring Break Art Show. In 2018, their installation After the fire is gone was acquired by the Margulies Collection in Miami. Their work has been widely praised in critical reviews, including The New York Times, Artnet News, The Believer, BOMB Magazine, Hyperallergic, and San Francisco Art Quarterly. Cate Giordano graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art. They were awarded a Smack Mellon Artist Studio residency in Brooklyn in 2016-2017 and participated in the Onassis AiR residency in Athens in 2019.
