Folkert de Jong (born in 1972 in the Netherlands) is a Dutch artist. He lives and works in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Amsterdam Academy of Visual Arts and was an artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten. In 2003, de Jong was awarded the Prix de Rome for sculpture.
His work has been the subject of several solo exhibitions across Europe, including at the Woods Art Institute in Hamburg in 2025–2026, Kunsthal Kade in 2023, Museum Het Valkhof (NL) in 2021, Galerie Valentin (2018, 2022), Museum Kranenburgh, Bergen NH (NL) in 2015, and Mudam (LU) in 2013. His works are included in public and private collections such as the Centre for Visual Arts, Dordrecht (NL); the GEM Museum for Contemporary Art, The Hague (NL); the Groninger Museum, Groningen (NL); the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University (USA); the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles (USA); The Plancius Collection, Amsterdam (NL); the Middelheim Museum, Antwerp (BE); the Saatchi Collection, London (UK); the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam; the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam; the Portland Art Museum; MOCA Los Angeles; and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
