Hélène Delprat (born in 1957) lives and works in Paris.


She has been teaching drawing at the Beaux-Arts de Paris since 2014 and is head of the studio since October 2019 (Les Explorateurs/Les Inventeurs). She was resident at the prestigious Villa Medici in Rome (IT) from 1982 to 1984.


In the last six years, Hélène Delprat has had a solo exhibition at galerie carlier I gebauer, Berlin (DE) - September 2018; Galerie Christophe Gaillard, Paris (FR) - October 2020; La Maison Rouge, Paris (FR) - June 2017; Musée des Beaux Arts de Caen (FR) - March 2018; Kunsthalle Giessen, Giessen (DE) - March 2020, at Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris (FR) - April 2022. Three of the latter initiatives were accompanied by the publication of an exhibition catalog.

 

Delprat has also taken part in group shows such as: "Mask" at Kunsthaus Aargauer, Aarau (CH) in 2019, "Untitled" works from the Pinault collection at Punta Della Dogana in Venice (IT) in 2020 and "Napoleon! Encore? "" at the Musée de l'armée in Paris (FR), curated by Eric de Chassey.

Her work has already been exhibited at the Musée Gustave Moreau, the Jeu de Paume and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, as part of the Hors Pistes Festival. A Hélène Delprat monograph, Works & Days, was published in September 2017 by Éditions Dilecta.

 


A solo exhibition is currently on view at the Museu Picasso in Barcelona (ES). In 2024, HD will take part in the Lyon Biennial, wich will be curated by Alexia Fabre.
