Julien des Monstiers, a French painter, was born in 1983 in Limoges. He currently lives and works between Faye-la-Vineuse and Paris. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2008, where he studied in the workshop of Jean-Michel Alberola.

Since 2016, Julien des Monstiers has been represented by Galerie Christophe Gaillard (Paris, Brussels, Le Tremblay), which has organized six solo exhibitions of his work to date. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions at both public and private institutions, including Mo.Co in 2023, the Yvon Lambert Collection in 2019, Fondation Ricard in 2015, and Palais de Tokyo in 2014. In addition, he has taken part in artist residencies abroad, further broadening his international experience.

Throughout his career, Julien des Monstiers has received several prestigious awards, including the Marin Prize in 2015, the Yishu8 Prize in 2017, the Pierre Cardin Prize in 2019, and the Simone and Cino Del Duca Painting Prize in 2022.

In 2024, two major institutions will present a monographic exhibition of his work: the Château de Chambord and Suquet des Artistes in Cannes. A new publication on the artist will also be released by Éditions Martin de Halleux on this occasion.
