Issue de la série « Dami (Signes) », cette pièce lumineuse forgée par le néoniste Alexis Dandreis évoque les transactions subtiles avec l’invisible. Mixte de gaz, de verre et de bois brûlé, cette enseigne indique le seuil d’un autre monde, évoquant les visions précurseures qui annoncent (et parfois induisent) les états de conscience modifiés ouvrant la porte des communications avec l’au-delà.

Cette pièce met en lumière, comme une méthode, le mot du philosophe Jean-Luc Nancy dans son ouvrage « L’adoration » (2010) : « Ici grand ouvert », seule méthode à mes yeux qui permet de se relier à la transcendance : adorer s’adresse à ce qui excède toute chose. Ici grand ouvert : c’est le monde désormais, c’est notre monde. Ouvert sur rien d’autre que sur lui-même. Transcendant dans sa propre immanence ».

From the series “Dami (Signes)”, this luminous piece forged by neon artist Alexis Dandreis evokes subtle transactions with the invisible. A combination of gas, glass, and charred wood, this sign marks the threshold of another world, recalling the visionary apparitions that herald (and sometimes induce) altered states of consciousness that open the door to communication with the beyond.

This work illuminates, as a kind of method, the words of philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy in his book L’adoration (2010): “Here wide open”, the only method, in my eyes, that allows one to connect with transcendence: to adore is to address that which exceeds all things. Here wide open: this is the world now, it is our world. Open to nothing other than itself. Transcendent in its own immanence.
