As part of the 5th edition of the Mulhouse Biennial of Photography 2022, come and discover at La Filature (Scène nationale de Mulhouse) from May 31st the exhibition of SMITH : Désidération (Summa).
"Exploring the porosity of artistic and scientific practices, philosophy and speculative narratives, DESIDERATION (Summa) proposes another mythology of space, through the thoughts of an interstellar humanity in search of new alliances with its original cosmos. Playing on the confusion of its etymology, which oscillates between the regret of the loss of the stars and the desire of their return, the desideration designates at the same time a proposal of diagnosis and remediation to the contemporary disaster... "

The 5th edition of the Mulhouse Biennial of Photography 2022 (June 4 - July 17), Celestial Bodies, evokes our fascination for the cosmos, the stars and the imaginary world that accompanies them, such as the constellations. Many celestial bodies are infinitely distant, and feed dreams of conquest. They also make it possible to link terrestrial life to the cosmos and to explain the origins of life on earth. In addition to putting these scientific reflections into images, this edition raises the broader question of the sense of belonging. Indeed, Heavenly Bodies also evokes the relationship to the human body. Beyond its organic dimension, what about the beliefs, projections and mystical experiences of the body today?
