Dear Eric,
As you know, I came to see your exhibition. I thought it was remarkable. Very apt, very precise. You are a virtuoso stylist. Every procedure, every object, every material bears the mark of your singular gaze. Everything transpires here as though within a radical aftermath, but without amnesia and with a savoir-faire (savoir-transformer) that dismisses the question of the ready-made. Painting, drawing, and sculptural installation hold no secrets for you. You remind me of that dandy Daniel Pommereulle. In a country that is now no more than a confetti at the end of a continent ousted by history and in an intellectual world sold out to moralistic-identificatory ideologies, I wonder what an approach as sophisticated and dissenting as yours can hope for. Nothing, if not to continue.
Warm regards (to Thu Van as well),
Christian
