STÉPHANE COUTURIER & SMITH

Exposition "La vie climatique. Histoires sensibles des collections privées", Musée d'Art Contemporain, Marseille

The Museums of Marseille and ADIAF (Association for the International Diffusion of French Art) have joined forces to present the exhibition "Climatic Life: Sensitive Histories from Private Collections," on the occasion of the 8th edition of the "De leur temps" Triennial, which highlights works acquired over the past three years by collectors committed to promoting contemporary art.

"Climatic Life: Sensitive Histories from Private Collections" brings together 136 works from more than 70 French and international private collections and Marseille patrons, spanning all fields of artistic creation: painting, video, sculpture, performance, and installation.

The exhibition explores the collection as a veritable living ecosystem and questions the "ideal climate" of museums—this stable and controlled environment—in the face of the ecological, political, and social upheavals of the contemporary world.

Exhibition curators:

Stéphanie Airaud, director of the [mac]

Sandra Delacourt, contemporary art historian
